A percentage is the share of simulated paths that last through the plan.

Sample plan. 95% chance of success, with 5% of paths marked Runs Out.
The figure is that share. The ring shows how the other paths turn out.

One assumed return cannot tell you how often a bad sequence of markets would use the plan up. Chance of Success reruns the plan through many possible market paths and counts the share that still have money at the end.

The ring divides those paths. Some finish with a lot left, some finish tight, and some run out before the plan ends. The percentage is only the share that last.
